Meet Szilvia Kneusel, Coordinator of the Hungarian delegation

Hi,
My name is Szilvia Kneusel, I am the co-ordinator of the Hungarian group. I’ve been going to the Peacecamp for more than 10 years and been a friend of Evelyn and Ronny for that long. I believe it’s a great opportunity for both students and adults to learn a lot about themselves and how to communicate with each other in a peaceful manner.
I’m married, my husband is also a teacher and we both love travelling and getting to know new cultures.
See you there! :-)

Meet Eduard Schlaffer, Coordinator of the Austrian delegation

Hi, everybody! My name is Edward and I’m 69 years old. I’m a retired teacher and headmaster of a private school. Currently I spend most of my time for studying. Studying needs so much time that I don’t have time to work, although, I enjoy life very much with my friends and my family. I’m married to Susan and I have two grown-up children and two grand-children.
In summer I live in a small village in Burgenland next to the Hungarian border, in winter I’m most of the time in Vienna, the city I love very much.
I do think that I’m a reliable, honest, sociable, tolerant, enthusiastic, and optimistic man.
I’m not a very skilled musician but I like to play the piano, the guitar, and I like to sing with my choir, of which I’m the director. When I have time I like drumming with my cajon or djembe. I regularly do sports, above all I like cross-country skiing, alpine skiing in winter, cycling, swimming, and nordic walking in summer … and I like to travel around Europe.
Why do I participate in peacecamp 2017? A friend of mine told me about that project, so I wrote to the co-ordinaters (Evelyn and Ronny) and offered them my willingness to participate, to co-ordinate and accompany the Austrian group.
I like to help people solve their conflicts and problems. I want to know more about other cultures and meeting you is a very good possibility to know how people live, to get information about your country, your culture, and to practise and improve my language skills of English. I’m sure participating in the project will widen my understanding of other people’s problems my own perspectives of the world we live in.
I’m looking forward with huge curiosity to meeting you!

Meet Ghadeer Zoubi - coordinator of the Arab-Israeli delegation from Nazareth

hello,
My name is Ghadeer, it means a small river in Arabic. I like my name and my city Nazareth, in which we have lived Muslims and Christians peacefully for ages. I think it inspires us to respect other religions, nations and origins. I believe in accepting the "other" and understanding the differences, although stereotypes or social frames, set by the media or political systems, could be misleading. I believe we should all work together, as individuals, to look for what unities us as human being and look forward a brighter future. Conflicts may stay forever, but It's our responsibility to make our lives through easier.
I have been a high school teacher for most of my adult life, started at 21 after a short career in journalism. I teach English as a foreign language, and communication (media studies) as a major subject. Honestly, I enjoy teaching both, feeling equally creative and enthusiastic year after year.
I wish all the participants a lovely stay and a prosperous peacecamp.
